In case you missed it among other ALA Annual hullabaloo, this year’s Library Journal Movers & Shakers luncheon recognizing outstanding librarians also saw the introduction of a new award for libraries themselves—the LibraryAware Community Award. In a nutshell, the Community Award gives public libraries that have a drive for serving and engaging with their communities a chance of winning $10,000 and a featured spot in LJ’s April 1, 2013 edition.
