MCLS maintains several electronic mailing lists for information exchange among members. Below you can find information about the available lists, subscribe to a list, unsubscribe, or update your subscription preferences.


Community_Engagement

Community_Engagement is an electronic discussion list for library staff with an interest in "turning outward" to their communities for deeper community engagement. This list will be of particular interest to library staff who have had training in the Harwood Institute approach or have attended a Public Innovators Lab, but is open to anyone with an interest.

MCLS Member Academic Librarians Mailing List (acad-ref)

acad-ref allows exchange of information about reference services, group purchasing and database trial offers, and special items of interest to the academic library community. acad-ref is a closed, unmoderated list. RIDES

The RIDES mailing list is for staff at all libraries that participate in RIDES to communicate with each other. This list is used to disseminate news and announcements about RIDES. The RIDES Contact from each participating library is required to subscribe, but all staff are welcome to subscribe. Subscribers may post messages directly to the list; messages from non-subscribers must be approved.

Techies

Techies is an unmoderated email list geared towards the computer / technical staff at Indiana and Michigan libraries and MCLS. The purpose of this list is to facilitate greater communication between the technical staff at MCLS and its counterparts at MCLS member libraries, and to share ideas, experiences and suggestions for setting up networks, hardware, and software. Additional objectives are to introduce a wide range of techies to different points of view regarding issues like security, email clients, and operating systems, and to share ideas, issues and concerns facing the various networks of libraries.
