Transformative agreements and upcoming journal renewals

MCLS has negotiated transformative agreements with several publishers. These are typically multi-year agreements with a January subscription start date. Each publisher provides data to the participating institutions and/or to MCLS on publishing activity by institution. Some offer both a traditional “read” subscription option and the read and publish model through MCLS.

January 2026 journal renewals with transformative agreements include:

  • American Chemical Society (year 3 of 3)
  • Association for Computing Machinery (year 3 of 3)
  • Cambridge University Press (year 3 of 3)
  • Institute of Physics (IOP) (year 1 of 2)
  • Oxford University Press (Year 2 of 3)

The MCLS eLicensing and Collection Resources team is open to negotiating additional transformative agreements, based on member libraries’ needs and interests. If you have questions, or if your library is interested in joining one of these agreements, contact us at services@mcls.org or 517-939-1382.
