MCLS implements ConsortiaManager

MCLS launched its new subscription management system, ConsortiaManager (CM), on July 5.

Libraries can now renew subscriptions via CM. An email sent on July 13 provided libraries with a link for establishing a CM login. Also on July 13, ConsortiaManager staff conducted a training demonstrating the renewal process for libraries. The basic process for renewing subscriptions has not changed. As in the past, designated library contacts will receive a series of email notifications (five in total) prior to the renewal deadline, alerting them of the need to complete their renewal in CM. If you were not able to attend the recent training, the recording of the session is available here. A second live training session is scheduled for September – date and registration information will be available soon, so watch the MCLS Info email list for details. (If you’re not already subscribed to this list, you can join here.)

After several years of using our own homegrown system, the transition to ConsortiaManager represents a major undertaking. Since the transition, we have been working through some kinks with contact management and we continue refining our workflow and processes in CM. Our departmental email, services@mcls.org, remains the best vehicle for communication with the MCLS Group Purchasing team. CM works with an alias email address (mcls@consortiamanager.com). Please don’t respond to that email. Instead, send a new message to the services address.

We know that learning to use a new system is not easy. There are two sources of help available to users within ConsortiaManager, both located right on the top banner. The first is the online “ConsortiaManager Guide”, accessible via the book icon. The second is the “Help Section”, accessible via the question mark icon. Everyone is encouraged to read the “Notifications” posted on the main page each time you log in; these notifications are messages from us with updates and other relevant information.

Thank you for your patience as the transition continues. We look forward to serving you through ConsortiaManager.
