Congratulations to the University of New Mexico cataloging staff!

Are you looking for a way to motivate your cataloging staff to refresh their skills?  Would you like to develop a sense of comradery and achievement as part of your professional development?  Eight members of the University of New Mexico cataloging staff recently did just that.

The UNM staff completed the five online workshops required for the MCLS Basic Cataloging Certificate, participating as a group over several months.

Referring to the value of the process, one staff member commented, “I would say that the course work helped me to improve and refresh my skills as a cataloger. At UNM the certificates have been a way to encourage staff to broaden their knowledge base and job skills. It was also very helpful to connect with other librarians around the country. I look forward to taking future courses with MCLS.”
