World Cafe Conversations scheduled in Indiana

In March 2018, MCLS will be hosting three in-person World Cafe Conversations for Indiana library staff. The process used for facilitating these conversations is based on The World Cafe method of civic dialogue. Our purpose is to gain knowledge of, and identify barriers to, library services in Indiana, and to devise strategies and solutions to begin to overcome those barriers.

We need input from libraries of all types, sizes, and geographic areas to make this effort an authentic representation of Indiana libraries. Please consider joining us and sharing your thoughts, challenges, and hopes in breaking down barriers to library services in our communities. You do not have to be an expert; we want you to speak openly and candidly from your experience and point of view. All library staff are welcome.

Mar 6, Lake County Public Library
Mar 13, Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library
Mar 14, Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library

Notes from the Executive Director

Randy-Dykhuis-portrait_small.jpg

The end of one year and the beginning of the next always seem to spark a certain pensiveness for me. I look back at the year that’s just ending and think about our accomplishments and our “might have beens”. 2017 saw plenty of them. I have a grab-bag of topics that came up in the past year and seem likely to return in 2018.
