Brain HQ - Think faster, focus better, and remember more

*Offer available to public libraries only

A recent AARP survey reports nine in 10 people say brain health is important, but few know how to maintain it. Subscribing to BrainHQ is an easy way to make brain health a priority for your patrons. Our brains are at their peak performance at age 27, but through continual learning and new challenges, we can help remodel our brains to function at their highest potential, so we can lead the life we want.

BrainHQ is an online suite of 27 exercises with 840+ levels of training organized around the six core cognitive areas of Attention, Brain Speed, Memory, People Skills, Intelligence, and Navigation. Exercises are delivered in short, two minute or less segments, adapting speed and delivery to your performance.  A private, personal dashboard visualizes your performance and provides feedback and suggestions on areas of focus.

Through training, you too can gain improvement to memory, experience increased visual and auditory processing, and improve reaction time.

Welcome back!

"Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall," wrote  F. Scott Fitzgerald in The Great Gatsby. MeLCat welcomes back all of the schools that suspended MeLCat participation for the summer. Many libraries had temporary closures due to construction and renovation projects, or a move to a new location. If you are in doubt, check the MeLCat Participating Libraries list for current status.

MeLCat staff have been busy all summer with many projects. A new group of libraries is being organized for implementation, and many more are now using NCIP to facilitate processing. Testing continues for Pick Up Elsewhere, a new option that will be available to libraries, and investigations into Linked Data may soon bring MeLCat to a new level of discovery.

Let us know at melcathelp@mcls.org if you have any questions!

Thank you for your patience!

Due to changes in available options, many of the RIDES routes had to be redesigned. After a few weeks of adjusting days of service, things have settled into a routine. If you are having any kind of issue or problem with your RIDES service, please let us know as soon as possible by submitting a message to the RIDES Assistance form. We can't fix a problem if we don't know about it!
