MCLS will be offering five workshops in March and April 2020 as part of an Indiana LSTA grant project to support the development of digital skills and literacies of Indiana public library staff. The workshops will empower participants to create a digital learning plan for their library by learning how to incorporate technology competencies and how to help staff successfully achieve their digital literacy goals, and by creating activities to support the development of digital literacy skills for staff.
Registration will begin January 2020. These workshops are for Indiana public library staff. Each workshop is limited to 15 participants and priority will be given to staff from small and medium sized libraries. Participation will be limited to two participants per library. Watch for January’s MCLS eNewsletter for more information on registration.
The dates and locations for the workshops will be:
Mar 25, Knox County Public Library, Vincennes, IN
Mar 26, Floyd County Public Library, New Albany, IN
Mar 31, Nappanee Public Library, Nappanee, IN
Apr 2, Hamilton-East Public Library-Fishers, Fishers, IN
Apr 7, Jasper County Public Library DeMotte Branch, DeMotte, IN
This project is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, administered by the Indiana State Library.
David Votta, Library Strategist at MCLS, has announced that he will be the new Director of the Charlotte Community Library, beginning Dec. 2, 2019.
David joined MCLS in February 2013 as the Community Engagement Librarian, and has spent his time here working with libraries across the region to traverse their ever-evolving roles and make deeper connections with their communities. Prior to joining MCLS, he was the Local History Specialist at the Capital Area District Libraries. David has contributed a wealth of knowledge, relationships, and skills to his work with our member libraries over the past six and a half years, and will be missed on our staff. We at MCLS wish David all the best as he embarks on his new job.
Starting in January 2020, MCLS will be transitioning to electronic delivery of all invoices and statements. This will get the information to you faster, and can be copied/forwarded to your staff as needed. If you need to update contact information or would like to have additional contacts added to receive these documents, please notify Nick at accounting@mcls.org.
The MCLS office will be closed the following days for the 2019 holiday season:
