MeLCat Welcomes New Libraries

Two new libraries, Gary Byker Memorial Library and Croton Township Library, joined MeLCat in June, bringing the total number of MeLCat libraries to 414! Earlier this year, eight additional libraries joined MeLCat: Beal City Public Schools, Glen Lake Community Library, Houghton Portage Township Schools, Independence Township Library Mattawan School Libraries, Pentwater Township Library, Shelby Area District Library, and Shepherd Public Schools. Welcome all!

MCLS’ MeLCat team is now working on putting together the Fall 2011 group.  If your library is interested in joining MeLCat, or in getting more information, please contact our MeLCat Team at 800-530-9019 ext. 403 or melcathelp@mcls.org.  See also our MCLS web pages: MeLCat and MeLCat FAQ.

All MeLCat libraries – current and potential – are encouraged to attend MeLCat Users Day in Lansing on November 4, 2011.  This year’s agenda features Steve Sowards’ Keynote, “Thinking Outside the Box in the World of eBooks,” Tom Jacobson of III on “INN-Reach Going Forward,” and several breakout sessions. For further details and to register online, see MeLCat Users Day 2011 registration page. If you need assistance with registration, please contact Heather Thomas (ext. 133) at MCLS.

The MeL project is made possible by grant funds from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services administered by the State of Michigan through the Library of Michigan.
