STAT-USA/Internet Overview


STAT-USA/Internet, produced by the U.S. Department of Commerce, is the key source of business, trade, and economic information produced by the U.S. Federal government. For a single annual subscription price, the web-based database service provides institution-wide access to several areas of interest:
  • State of the Nation
    This area contains both current and historical financial and economic data from throughout the federal government and other related entities pertaining to the United States' domestic economy. Basic topical areas include:
    • General Economic Indicators
    • Housing and Construction
    • Employment
    • Manufacturing and Industry
    • Monetary Statistics
    • Economic Policy

  • GLOBUS (Global Business Opportunities)
    This area provides daily trade leads from the Trade Opportunities Program (TOPS) and the Department of Agriculture. GLOBUS also offers daily procurement activity from the Defense Logistics Agency, the United Nations, and the Commerce Business Daily leads. Historical leads are available for a period of time.

  • The NTDB (National Trade Data Bank)
    The NTDB provides access to Country Commercial Guides, Market Research reports, Best Market reports, U.S. import and export statistics, and over 75 other various reports and programs. In addition, the International Trade library is a comprehensive collection of over 40,000 documents related to international trade. All documents are full text searchable, and keyword searchable by country or product.
